Barbara Clark is a graduate of the University of Iowa, Physician Assistant Program, and the University of Nebraska, Masters Program. She has practiced in women’s health and family practice for more than 30 years and is currently in private practice at Knox OB/GYN, Ltd. in Galesburg, Illinois. She also works as an educator, and mentors, precepts and lectures students who are in training to become physician assistants.
Barbara is past president of the Association of Physician Assistants in OB-GYN and the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants. She currently serves the American Academy of Physician Assistants as liaison to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and recently served as the first physician assistant on the Board of Directors of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP).
Recently, Barbara was honored as the recipient of the 2009 American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) PAragon Publishing Award for the article “Menstrual Migraine” which appeared in the January 2008 issue of ADVANCE magazine.
The following ACCME accredited brief is based on her award-winning paper, which was originally co-authored with Vincent T. Martin, MD.
